In this client spotlight, we take a quick look at one of our clients, The White Gallery, and their recent results from the SEO work we have carried out for them.
Background:
The White Gallery sell high-end wedding and prom dresses from their bridal boutique in Greater Manchester.
The Problem:
The White Gallery is based in Greater Manchester and did not have any search results in the top 50 for wedding dresses in Manchester. They also ranked poorly for people searching nationally for the dress brands that they stock.
What we did:
To start, we only use White Hat SEO practices as opposed to Black Hat. This means we don’t do things like paying for 100s of low quality backlinks that might give you an immediate boost and then destroy your rankings in the future. We do things the right way which may take longer, but provides the best results.
The first thing we did with The White Gallery was to carry out keyword research to enable us to target the best keywords for their target market, looking for keywords with high search volume and low competition. Once we understood what The White Gallery wanted to target, we carried out an SEO site audit to understand the current situation and where improvements are needed on their website.
From our audit, we noticed that their overall on-site SEO, such as page titles and meta descriptions were not targeting their keywords properly. As well as this, the lack of a blog on their website meant they were not continuously generating new, quality content which is another major ranking factor for Google. We fixed all of the website’s on-site content to target their keywords and worked closely with The White Gallery to produce high-quality blog posts which allowed us to target new keywords and support the current keywords of the website. Matching this with outreach to local newspapers to help increase the high-quality backlinks of the website, we saw The White Gallery’s Google rankings increase significantly.
The Results:
From having no results for searches in Manchester, The White Gallery now site in the top spots for wedding dresses in Manchester. As well as great results for the local search, the national campaign for dress brands has also gone from around page five, to the top places of page one, with some instances only being beat by the dress brand itself.
Below shows the impressions (how many times the website was seen in search results from Google) and clicks in the last 16 months with both increasing significantly. As you can see, the website was consistently getting around 500 impressions each month. This has increased to hitting around 1500 impressions each month with clicks following a similar pattern. This is a great increase in exposure for the brand as well as an increase in website traffic.
